Inter is preparing a major defensive project for next summer. The Milan club must anticipate the aging and the end of contracts of several executives: Stefan de Vrij (33 years old) and Francesco Acerbi (37 years old) are linked to the club until 2026, while Matteo Darmian, who will celebrate his 36th birthday in December, will be able to negotiate freely from January. Despite the rise in power of Yann Aurel Bisseck, Inter wants to strengthen its defense from the next transfer window, in order to ensure the transition and bring new blood to its back line.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sportthe priority of the Nerazzurri leaders is Crystal Palace central defender Marc Guéhi. At the end of his contract next June, the 25-year-old Englishman has the whole of Europe at his feet, starting with FC Barcelona and Bayern Munich, as well as several Premier League clubs such as Liverpool, who came very close to recruiting him last summer, and Manchester City. Inter would like to recruit him freely, but the competition promises to be fierce. The club would therefore consider attempting an early transfer from January, possibly including Bisseck in the operation, even if, for the moment, this option remains hypothetical.
