Udinese achieved a prestigious success at the Bluenergy Stadium, beating Atalanta (1-0) thanks to a goal from Nicolò Zaniolo just before the break in the 40th minute. In an intense and tactical match, Kosta Runjaić’s Friulians were able to show realism and defensive rigor to bring down a Bergamo team, favorite on paper, which badly needed a victory to stop its series of consecutive draws. Disciplined in its 3-5-2, Udinese perfectly closed the spaces and cut off the opposing offensive circuits, leaving few solutions for Scamacca, Samardžić and Pašalić.
When the opportunity presented itself, Zaniolo sprang to deliver an important victory which confirms the progression of the group and its character in major events.
