What a hundredth. Replacing at kick-off, Luis Enrique preferring to launch Senny Mayulu in a role of false number 9, Gonçalo Ramos long watched his teammates break their teeth against the Nice defense. Totally master of the debates against the Aiglons, who are more pragmatic than ever, the Capital club has long believed that they would once again share the points in L1. Clumsy in front of the goal or barred by a Yehvann Diouf of the big nights, Paris Saint-Germain finally relied on its real professional number 9: Gonçalo Ramos.

A sensational entry for its 100th

Launched by the former La Roja coach for the last quarter of an hour of play, the Portuguese international (22 caps, 9 goals) was quick to shine. On an aerial ball, the 24-year-old striker placed a first uncrossed header (80th). Without success. Restless and available for his partners, the ex-Benfica scorer was in the process at the conclusion of a nice collective movement from the Ile-de-France residents, but his shot died in the small net of the Nice goalkeeper (81st). Whatever.

Determined to prove to his coach that he could have a growing role in the French capital, the Olhão native appeared in the air again, but his head still found the last rampart of the Gym (90+4th). On the following corner, the 1.85m right-hander finally blew up the Parc des Princes. Taking advantage of a deflection from Kvaratskhelia, the Parisian number 9 rose even higher than everyone in the Riviera defense and deceived Diouf with yet another helmet shot (1-0, 90+4th). A liberating goal – its second of the season in L1 – allowing PSG to consolidate its first place three days before the clash against Bayern Munich.

Ramos sends a message to Luis Enrique

Interviewed at the microphone of BeIN Sports a few seconds after this resounding entrance, the main person concerned was logically enjoying it. “All matches are important. It’s important to win them, but it’s difficult to play these championship matches, it’s an excellent victory. It’s incredible, it’s a very beautiful story”said the Portuguese before detailing his thoughts in the mixed zone. “It’s a special day, a special match, I’m happy. I didn’t know it was my 100th match. I discovered it at the last minute. It’s magnificent (to score in the last minute) but it’s the most important victory”.

Recharged on his efficiency coming off the bench, Ramos even used a certain touch of humor: “I come in more times than I play as a starter, maybe that’s why. I didn’t wait for a goal for confidence, I want to be on the pitch to score goals”added the person concerned. With this decisive goal, Gonçalo Ramos – author of 6 starts in L1 since the start of the season – has, in any case, sent a strong message to his coach. It now remains to be seen whether the Spanish coach of the European champions will rely on the Portuguese from the start of the clash against Bayern or will opt, once again, for this role of supersub. Ramos is ready.
