This Saturday, La Liga offered us an enticing poster in the Basque country with the derby between Real Sociedad and Bilbao. Authors of two average starts to the season, the two clubs had to win to try to establish a dynamic. Staying with a victory last week, it was Sociedad who finally managed to win at the end of the match.
After a pleasant first act where Braiz Mendez opened the scoring for the locals (1-0, 38th), Gorka Guruzeta equalized just before the break (1-1, 42nd). As soon as they returned from the locker room, the Txiki-Urdini regained the advantage thanks to Gonçalo Guedes (2-1, 47th). At the end of the match, Robert Navarro finally thought he would allow Bilbao to get a draw (2-2, 79th). It was without counting on Jon Gorrotxategi’s goal in the final moments of the match (3-2, 90+4th). With this enjoyable success against the rival, Sociedad climbs to 13th place. Bilbao remains tenth.
