PSG could lose one of its young talents. While the Parisian club has been banking on its training and its Titis for several seasons, a player from the academy is attracting English interest. Manchester City, Chelsea and Tottenham have all sent emissaries to monitor him. Luis Enrique considers him a pillar of the club’s future, but his current contract expires in 2027. And faced with the growing interest of the Premier League, Paris is working to protect him. But who exactly are we talking about?

Senny Mayulu coveted by the Premier League, PSG reacts

Senny Mayulu. The 19-year-old midfielder, scorer in the 2025 Champions League final, finds himself in the sights of the English giants. According to transfer window specialist Nicolo Schira, PSG is currently finalizing a three-year extension to secure its future. Trained at the club since 2018, Mayulu embodies the Parisian renewal focused on local talent. But English scouts spotted his versatility, his creativity and his ability to handle pressure. For them, he is one of the most complete French circles of his generation.

Despite English interest, Mayulu seems determined to continue his adventure in Paris.
“Paris is my home” a source close to the player told L’Équipe. The young midfielder wants to continue to grow surrounded by Luis Enrique and Marquinhos, in the environment that shaped him. His priority remains to repay the trust the club has placed in him. A statement which reassures Parisian leaders, but which does not prevent Manchester City and Chelsea from remaining on the lookout.

From the academy to the C1 final

Mayulu’s rise has been meteoric. After his professional debut in January 2024, he played 39 matches in the 2024-25 season, scoring six goals and providing three assists. His moment of glory came in the 2025 Champions League final, when he came on to score PSG’s fifth goal in the 5-0 win over Inter. At 19 years and 14 days old, he became the youngest Frenchman to score in a C1 final. A feat which confirmed his status as a great hope of European football.

PSG is pushing for an extension, less out of urgency than out of protection. The club wants to ensure that Mayulu remains untouchable against the English onslaught, as it did with Warren Zaire-Emery. Luis Enrique sees him as a pillar of the next Parisian generation. But if negotiations drag on, City, Chelsea and Tottenham will not fail to go on the offensive. For the moment, Mayulu has 54 appearances, nine goals and five assists in the Parisian jersey. The future will tell whether he will continue this story or whether he will attempt the English adventure.
