Daniel Riolo returned to his recent bickering with Jérôme Rothen.

Renowned for their strong character, Daniel Riolo and Jérôme Rothen are emerging among the headliners of RMC. The journalist and the former French international share a lot of things: their verve, their passion for football, their affection for PSG… But they should not go on vacation together.

Present on W9 to promote his new book Football in my opinion, Daniel Riolo was questioned by Gilles Verdez about what appears to be a falling out with Jérôme Rothen.
“Still, you swing a little, especially at the beginning, especially towards your colleagues. And that surprised me… about Jérôme Rothen, who is a great player, who works on the radio. You’re talking about betrayal. What happened to him? It’s strong, betrayal, Daniel”, Verdez said.

Daniel Riolo, star columnist for After Foot.

“We loved each other, we left each other,” retorted Daniel Riolo. “It happens that you get confused with colleagues that you really liked, with whom you did things. At one point, I think that when you’ve done a lot for someone, when you’ve helped them, because we worked together, we wanted him to do his show… But in fact, I don’t blame him at all. It’s not that, it’s just that I’m telling a little about our life together. But it’s two lines, plus, you really went for it.”

Rothen is “a disappointment” for Riolo

And Daniel Riolo plays down the situation:
“Frankly, there are really two lines, where I just say that indeed, it ended badly between us. I really have nothing. Tomorrow we see each other, we shake hands”.

“But like before, we played tennis together… Really, he’s someone I could send messages to and suddenly there wasn’t that anymore… It’s a disappointment, actually,” concluded Daniel Riolo.
