UEFA has revealed the list of candidates for the organization of the 2028 and 2029 European Cup finals. Paris and the Parc des Princes appear on it, as do two other French cities.

While Paris Saint-Germain has yet to make an official decision regarding its new stadium, the club is bidding to host a European Cup final. And he is not the only one in France, since Olympique Lyonnais and Losc are also interested in the idea of playing host for an evening.

Indeed, UEFA received the “declarations of interest from fifteen member associations for the organization of the 2028 and 2029 final phases of the UEFA Champions League, the UEFA Europa League, the UEFA Conference League and the UEFA Women’s Champions League. »

If the final files must be submitted no later than June 10, 2026, the first trends are emerging. First, the C1 will not return to France unless the situation turns around. Neither in 2028, since only Germany offered with the Allianz Arena, nor in 2029 where a battle between Wembley (London, England) and Camp Nou (Barcelona, Spain) is looming.

Paris and Lyon want the Europa League

We must rather look towards the Europa League to see French interest. Both in 2028 and 2029 since Paris and Lyon wish to host the C3 final, respectively at the Parc des Princes and at the Groupama Stadium. Opposite, Turin, Bucharest, Belgrade and Ankara complete the list.

As for the women’s C1, the Rhone city is the only one to apply for France. Finally, Lille and its Décathlon Arena Stade Pierre-Mauroy are positioned more in the Conference League for both editions. Competition will be tough, with interests from Budapest, Turin, Astana, Gdansk and Helsinki.
