In February 2005,
Vahid Halilhodzic was dismissed from his position as coach of Paris Saint-Germain. Despite a good first season on the sidelines of the capital club, the Bosnian technician had apparently lost his group.
“The players gave up on you”the president of the Rouge et Bleu at the time, Francis Graille, would have confessed to him when announcing his dismissal. “There was a divide with the players. An internal war between him and the players”confirmed Alain Roche in the Late Football Club.
At the time “Coach Vahid” was sacked, the capital club was in twelfth place in the Ligue 1 standings. It had already been eliminated from the Champions League and the League Cup.
Vahid Halilhodzic breaks with PSG players
“Vahid started criticizing the players in the press. And they no longer adhered to video sessions which lasted an hour. At one point, you are faced with a wall and you have to react”continues the man who then held the position of sporting director of the Rouge et Bleu.
In December 2005, the Saint-Germain-en-Laye industrial tribunal ordered PSG to pay Vahid Halilhodzic nearly 3.5 million euros. Unfair dismissal was recognized by this court responsible for resolving individual conflicts between employer and employee linked to the employment contract.
