Senegalese defender Kalidou Koulibaly, currently a 34-year-old Al-Hilal player, was full of praise for his former teammate Gonzalo Higuaín during an interview for the YouTube show Zack freewheeling. “Higuaín is, for me, one of the best strikers I have played with (at Naples), if not the best. You can give him the ball in midfield, he will score on his own… it was incredible. With Maurizio Sarri, it was even more impressive. I have never seen a player work so much in front of goal. Whether on 30 balls, 15 to the left, 15 to the right, he scored 28. Even when the goalkeeper was at full tilt, control, strike, goal… From the head, he is enormous, he is one of the best attackers with whom I have shared the field”explained the former Naples player.
Kalidou Koulibaly notably played with Higuaín in Naples, but he also shared the field with other very great attackers like Victor Osimhen. In the Senegalese selection, the defender also had the opportunity to play alongside Sadio Mané. Gonzalo Higuaín scored 121 goals in 258 games for Real Madrid before scoring 91 goals in 146 games for the Italian club.
