The French women's team disappointed again. Or at least they didn't manage to surprise on Tuesday evening, when they hosted Germany in the semi-final second leg of the Nations League. Having conceded a draw (2-2) after losing in the first leg (1-0), Laurent Bonadei's players were removed from the competition in which they had reached the final in February 2024. The day after this disappointment, the fate of the coach was decided.

No layoff for the former assistant who became Hervé Renard's successor at the head of the Bleues. According to information relayed this Wednesday by RMC, the French Football Federation has on the contrary chosen to focus on continuity. As it did a few months ago after the Tricolores left the road in the quarter-finals of Euro 2025, the FFF renewed its confidence in Laurent Bonadei.

The coach has chosen to take the path of reconstruction since taking office. He therefore decided to do without the services of figures such as Wendie Renard and Eugénie Le Sommer just before the last Euro. An upheaval which did not collapse the blue house either. Tuesday evening after his team's defeat, Laurent Bonadei returned to his choices and his mission.

Laurent Bonadei and the Blues, goal 2027

“I have a contract until 2027 and I am committed to a project. (…) Every coach is under pressure. We do the best we can even if we sometimes make mistakes. » Boss of the Federation, Philippe Diallo has therefore chosen stability, in order to allow Laurent Bonadei to continue his work with a view to the 2027 World Cup.

The year 2025 is not yet completely over as far as the French women's team is concerned. No more than the League of Nations since the Blue will face Sweden in a two-way match on November 28 and December 2, for the small final of the competition.
