Lens and Lille sink

Another day of Ligue 1, and another good performance for OGC Nice. Franck Haise’s men have a third match without defeat thanks to their success against LOSC (2-0). It must be said that Lille was not helped by Bodart, replacing Özer following the goalkeeper’s last minute withdrawal. The Belgian was the author of a very bad outing on Diop in the first period. The Aiglons number ten transforms his penalty with a panenka (29th), before Jansson hits the mark. The Niçois (17 pts) move up to seventh place, tied with the Mastiffs.

In the Normandy rain, the meeting between Le Havre and Brest was not the most thrilling. If Ebonog thought he would start the hostilities in the first half for the locals (41st), his goal was ultimately canceled for an offside position. We had to wait until the 73rd minute, and a clearing from Sangante, for the match to really come alive. Thanks to this success (1-0), Le Havre temporarily overtakes Rennes, thus taking 10th place in Ligue 1.

Metz heroic, Lens apathetic

Today’s feat comes to us from Saint-Symphorien. Last with 2 points before this 10th day, Metz hoped not to become the team making the worst start to a season in the history of Ligue 1 by equalizing Arles Avignon in 2010/2011 (two points in the first ten matches).

The Grenats did not steal their success against RC Lens (2-0) during a game hampered by several stoppages in play. The score could even have been heavier if Diallo had not found a hole in front of a vacant Lens cage (36th). Without possession, the Messins were more aggressive offensively (5 big chances compared to 2 for the Sang et Or). Captain Hein, sent off at the end of the match following two yellow cards, put on his savior costume by scoring twice, including a penalty (87th, 90+1st). FC Metz remains last, but with five points. Pierre Sage’s men for their part – still second with 19 points but exposed to the potential return of OM (18 pts) – can bite their fingers after this poor performance.
