PSG was particularly wise during the last summer transfer window. The capital club has only seen the arrival of two reinforcements: Illya Zabarnyi and Lucas Chevalier, recruited in view of the expected departure of Gianluigi Donnarumma. While many observers expected to see the French champions try to attract a new right-back capable of relieving Achraf Hakimi, this was not the case.

Luis Enrique recently explained this. “He is undoubtedly the best right-back in the world for me, he explained at a press conference. This is why we are not signing another right-back. He almost always plays and when he doesn't play, we have other options. You have to pay a lot of money to bring in a right back who is going to be a substitute, who is going to play three games and be demotivated. »

To replace it, Luis Enrique considers that he does not lack a solution. Marquinhos, Joao Neves, Warren Zaire-Emery and even the young Senny Mayulu have been called upon since last season to help out in the right lane during the rare absences of the Moroccan international. On Wednesday, while the former Madrilenian was rested, it is the French international who should once again occupy the right flank of the Parisian defense against Lorient.

Achraf Hakimi could miss five or six matches

Accustomed to playing one match after another, Achraf Hakimi will nevertheless be absent for several weeks this winter. Consequence of the African Cup of Nations that the native of Madrid will play with Morocco between December 21 and January 18. If the Atlas Lions go all the way to the final, the Parisian number 2 will therefore miss at least five matches: PSG's entry into the Coupe de France just before the holidays, the derby against the PFC and the reception of Lille in Ligue 1, the Champions Trophy against OM and the trip to Sporting in C1.

But according to L'Equipe, another player could be asked to replace Achraf Hakimi this winter: David Boly. Aged 16, the young player from the capital club's training center trained with the professional squad last week and should be called upon again this week, with Luis Enrique wanting to see him in action to get his opinion.
