Former left-back defender for Paris Saint-Germain, Laure Boulleau has established herself as one of the key faces of Canal Football Club since 2018. To her position as consultant, she brings as much her experience on the pitch as her personality.
However, his last seven years on Canal+ have not been a smooth ride. The Clermont-Ferrand native confided, during her appearance on the show “Clique” in May 2024, that she almost collapsed.
“I was becoming crazy”
“Two and a half to three years ago, I don't know what happened, I couldn't concentrate, I had memory lapses, I started to panic. I've done shows where I felt like I was on autopilot, I was there without being there. I was starting to think that maybe my days were numbered. My brain wasn't like it used to be. I had trouble remembering the names of players, even well-known ones. The days after shows, I was exhausted. (…) In fact I was on the verge of burnout. And by wanting to do everything well, without knowing how to say no, I almost burned my head”explained Boulleau.
“I did all the head and neck examinations. I had symptoms of phew and there was nothing. I was becoming crazy. And so I consulted a neurologist whom I had already consulted for head trauma and who immediately told me what was wrong. This is the first time I've talked about it in the media. I think it happens to a lot of people.”added the former French international, who then underwent treatment for her mental health.
