This terrible news comes from the Italian press agency
ANSA. While traveling to Appiano Gentile, a small town on the outskirts of Milan where Inter Milan's training center is located, the team's second goalkeeper Josep Martinez found himself at the heart of a fatal road accident involving an 81-year-old man with a disability.

The events took place on a road near the finish, at 9:30 a.m. this Tuesday morning. The victim, who was traveling on the road from his electric wheelchair, allegedly “suddenly changed direction, cutting off the path of the vehicle driven by the footballer”according to a first reconstruction relayed by theANSA. The 27-year-old Spanish goalkeeper then rushed out of his vehicle to perform first aid, in vain.

On the eve of the match against Fiorentina (Wednesday, 8:45 p.m.), Nerazzurro coach Cristian Chivu canceled the conference scheduled for Tuesday afternoon. Josep Martinez, still in shock, is currently the subject of further examination.
