RC Lens takes on Olympique de Marseille. This Saturday evening, the Sang et Or defeated OM with a score of 2 goals to 1 for the 9th day of Ligue 1.

A significant success which allows the Lensois to seize second place in the ranking ahead of Olympique de Marseille who lose their leadership position to Paris Saint-Germain who won this Saturday in Brest.

Despite Mason Greenwood's opener, the Olympians were unable to maintain their lead on the scoreboard. After the game, Nayef Aguerd did not hide his frustration with the result.

I think we have to stay united. The score does not reflect the match we played. We played well. We are disappointed with the result, it's small details…we knew it would be tough in Lens. We showed that we were capable of taking points away from home, we conceded goals from penalties and corners. We will have to correct the mistakes and move forward. You need efficiency on both surfaces. We made a good start, we controlled the debates. They scored goals on their two chances. I try to give something more, the coach chose me to be captain. I don’t care about the captaincy, I wanted to win the match…it’s a shame,” he said.

Rebound expected against Angers

Delicate week for Olympique de Marseille with two defeats in a row against Sporting in C1 and RC Lens this Saturday in Ligue 1. Roberto De Zerbi's men fall from the throne and temporarily find themselves in third place in the ranking.

A rebound is expected during the next day at the Vélodrome stadium against SCO Angers this Wednesday evening (9:05 p.m.). An important match so as not to enter a period of doubts…
