The arrival of Zlatan Ibrahimovic at Paris Saint-Germain in July 2012 marked a major turning point in the club's history. A true cornerstone of the change in dimension of the Ligue 1 resident, the Swedish striker has established himself as the leading figure of the Parisian project. And his influence was not limited to his performances on the field.

Beyond his leadership among his teammates, the Scandinavian giant has taken on the role of mentor to the youngest. In an interview given to The TeamRC Lens striker Odsonne Édouard, trained at PSG, spoke about his relationship with the former Parisian number 10 and other executives, as well as their impact on his progress.

“Zlatan told me to stay after training”

“I had a lot of pressure during the first training sessions, but they made me feel comfortable straight away. When we leave the center, we play for fun, but once with them, that's all over, you can't lose. There was a winning mentality and you had to imbibe it. But whether it was (Zlatan) Ibrahimovic or (Edinson) Cavani, both were very protective of me and gave me a lot of advice.”said the native of Kourou.

“We were doing finishing drills where I tried to imitate them. I'm not like them today (laughs), but they made me better. As soon as I lost balls or missed chances, Zlatan would tell me to stay after training to work again and again.confided Edouard.
