This Sunday, the 3 p.m. multiplex in the Premier League was going to give us many lessons at the top of the rankings. With the reception of Crystal Palace, Arsenal had to consolidate their first place against a team which caused a lot of problems for the big guys this season. At first, the Gunners showed nothing. Like an amorphous Bukayo Saka, the Londoners purred and did not create many chances. Opposite, Palace did not have much to chew on in a very soft first act. Ultimately, the one flash allowed Arsenal to take the lead. After a poorly repelled free kick, Eze emerged to open the scoring against his former team (1-0, 39th). In the second half, the score did not change due to an absolutely unworthy Crystal Palace this Sunday. With this success, Arsenal takes a four-point lead over their new runner-up, Bournemouth. Following on from an encouraging previous year, the Cherries are performing well this season. With the reception of a sick Nottingham Forest, Bournemouth did not tremble and left with the victory.
The opening score came from a direct corner from Marcus Tavernier after a poor reading from Mats Selz. In the process, Eli Junior Kroupi, in good form recently, deceived the former Strasbourg goalkeeper with a superb cross shot from 25 meters. Thus, Bournemouth are second in the Premier League because Manchester City lost again. Traveling to Aston Villa, Pep Guardiola's men conceded the first goal on a vicious strike from Matty Cash (1-0, 19th). City's Spanish technician once again distinguished himself with disastrous management of Rayan Cherki, who only came on for fifteen minutes this Sunday. An entry which changed the offensive momentum of his team, deprived of Erling Haaland's equalizing goal at the end of the match (90th). City remains third. In the last meeting of the afternoon, Wolverhampton, bottom of the table, reacted well after a double from Zian Flemming for Burnley. The Wolves snatched a draw at the break but it was not enough: at the end of the match, Lyle Foster gave Burnley the victory on a serve from Hannibal Mejbri (2-3, 90+5th).
The results from 3 p.m.:
- Arsenal 1-0 Crystal Palace: Eze (39th)
- Wolverhampton 2-3 Burnley : Larsen (42nd), Munetsi (45+4th) / Flemming (14th, 30th), Foster (90+5th)
- Aston Villa 1-0 Manchester City: Cash (19th)
