After eight years spent talking about football on the L'Équipe channel, Bertrand Latour decided to join the Canal+ group a little over a year ago. The 33-year-old journalist intervenes in particular in the Canal Football Club and the Canal Champions Club on Champions League evenings, for which his encrypted channel is the exclusive broadcaster in France.

By switching to Canal+, Bertrand Latour did not expect to be more exposed than on the L'Equipe channel. This is actually one of the big changes he has noticed compared to his old home. Just like now working for a media holding TV rights, and not the least: The Champions League and the Premier League.

“ What has changed compared to L’Equipe? I work on a rights-holding channel and the best rights. The Champions League, there is English football, I am less inclined to work on it but it is still a fairly incredible catalog of rights. So that's a major change to work with or without rights. It changes everything in the images, in the story, and therefore on what I am led to talk about », Confided Bertrand Latour on the Aliotalk YouTube channel.

Latour: “I didn’t think there would be such a change”

“ It's also a different exhibition that I had underestimated a little, moreover, he continued. I didn't think there would be such a change. Having previously been on a free channel and being there very, very, regularly, four or five times a week, I didn't think that by going to encrypted channels, there would be such recognition. »

This summer, Bertrand Latour almost left the Bolloré group. According to information from media specialist Clément Garin, the journalist from Albertville received an attractive offer from RMC, which offered him the opportunity to have his own show and succeed Jean Resseguié in the comments of the main posters. All accompanied by a salary increase of around 20%. Which he ultimately refused to stay at Canal.
