Captain and key player for Sporting CP for the past three seasons, Morten Hjulmand continues to attract the attention of several major European clubs. Last summer, the 26-year-old midfielder had already motivated offers, notably from Juventus and Manchester United, even going so far as to refuse offers allowing him to triple his current salary.

According to the Portuguese daily Recordthe club's president, Frederico Varandas, already anticipates new difficulties in retaining his captain during the next transfer window. Despite the growing interest, reigning Portuguese champions Sporting intend to keep Hjulmand until June and remain confident in the deal signed with the Dane last summer, while the Red Devils, Manchester City and Tottenham are preparing an offensive in January.
