The eight-time Ballon d'Or winner has extended his contract with Inter Miami. Although the duration of its new lease has not been communicated, several American sources mention a 3-year contract, until 2028.
Messi happy in America
Messi joined Inter Miami in the summer of 2023 after leaving Paris Saint-Germain through the back door. Performing and thriving in America, the former Barcelona player has already compiled 71 goals and 37 assists in 82 appearances for the Florida franchise.
It remains to be seen whether Messi will cross the 1,000 career goals mark – a challenge that his old rival Cristiano Ronaldo intends to take on.
