Franck Gava, this left attacking midfielder who distributed caviar… What happened to him?

Between 1986 and 2000, Franck Gava had a great career, even if it ended badly. During a medical examination, early osteoarthritis was detected, making him unfit to play football.

Only 31 years old, the attacking midfielder had to immediately end his career. So under contract with Stade Rennais until June 2002, he was no longer paid by the Breton club from November 2000.

A battle then begins at the industrial tribunal. The French international (three caps) emerged victorious, pocketing 6.4 million francs at the time. A small jackpot to be able to live peacefully after football.

Franck Gava, winner in the legal and real estate fields

In reality, Franck Gava had already protected himself from want by making financial investments during his playing career. In the horse racing world and the real estate sector in particular.
“It’s a bit like I won the lottery, so today I don’t want to take any risks,”
he revealed in 2008 in the columns of Figaro.

Before prematurely ending his football career in Brittany, Franck Gava made his mark at AS Nancy before moving on to Olympique Lyonnais. Having become an established player, he was recruited by Paris Saint-Germain. Whoever finishes as the best passer in the French championship twice will only stay one season in the capital, just like in Monaco.
