The Fennecs are fixed. The Algerian Football Federation unveiled this Wednesday Algeria's official schedule for the group stage of the African Cup of Nations (CAN). The latter will be played in Morocco from December 21, 2025 to January 18, 2026.

Placed in Group E, Vladimir Petkovic's band will face Burkina Faso, Equatorial Guinea and Sudan. Three matches which will be played at the Moulay El Hassan stadium in Rabat. And that it will have to negotiate well so as not to relive the disillusionments of 2021 and 2023. Two editions which ended with an elimination in the first round for the Greens.

Algeria will begin its CAN 2025 on Wednesday December 24 (4:00 p.m.) against Sudan. Four days later, on Sunday December 28 (6:30 p.m.), Riyad Mahrez's teammates will challenge Burkina Faso. Their main opponent (on paper) for first place in the group.

Algeria will end with a bad memory

Finally, the Fennecs will complete their group stage on Wednesday December 31 (5:00 p.m.) against Equatorial Guinea. A nation that the Algerians know well having faced them several times in recent years. As was the case during the CAN 2025 and CAN 2021 qualifiers, during which Algeria lost (1-0).

As a reminder, Algeria, which now has a certain Luca Zidane in its ranks, validated its ticket for the World Cup during the last international break.
