The former Gunners captain made history with the Gunners where he won all the biggest trophies except the Champions League. During an interview with the newspaper Marca, the defensive midfielder looked back on his entire career and spoke about one of his biggest regrets in it.
“ If I look back on my career, perhaps one of my regrets will be not having gone to Real Madrid at that time (summer 2024). Real Madrid called me. I had a good conversation with the president, and it didn't happen for various reasons. But maybe it's something I regret, but if it was, I would say it. I was too happy at Arsenal to leave the club at that time,” he admitted.
Heading to Serie A for Vieira
Ardently courted by Real Madrid in the summer of 2004, Patrick Vieira will finally continue the adventure in London for an additional season. In 2005, he finally decided to set sail but not for the Spanish capital.
He finally joined Serie A and Juventus for a 5-season contract and a transfer estimated at 20 million euros. A short-lived adventure since he will leave the Turin club at the end of the season – because of Calciopoli – and thus join Inter Milan where he will remain there for 3 seasons without really establishing himself due to numerous physical problems.
