Real Madrid: Kylian Mbappé's new record

Kylian Mbappé continues to tread water at the start of the season with Real Madrid. Author of the winning goal against Getafe (1-0) on Sunday, the French striker now has 10 goals after only 9 days in La Liga. Perfectly launched by Arda Güler, the captain of the Blues concluded with a beautiful sequence to give his team three points and allow Real to regain the lead in the championship. He thus becomes the first Madrid player to reach this mark so quickly since Cristiano Ronaldo in 2014-2015… who had 17 at this stage. That year, the Portuguese finished the season with 48 goals in La Liga, a total still much higher than what Mbappé can hope for today.

Beyond his statistics in La Liga, Mbappé has a string of high-level performances. He has scored in his last eleven matches, in all competitions, whether with Real Madrid or the France team. Only Mallorca, at the end of August, managed not to concede a goal from the former Parisian this season. If he maintains this pace, Kylian Mbappé could end up getting closer to the standards set by Cristiano Ronaldo or Lionel Messi at their peak.
