Olympique de Marseille keeps winning. Roberto De Zerbi's team thus remains on five victories in a row, in all competitions. And when it comes time to travel to Lisbon to face Sporting this Wednesday, the Olympians will have to rely on this fact, just to believe in their chances. Because for this third day of the Champions League, their opponent should be practically complete.

According to the latest information from A Bola, there is a good chance that Sporting can count on almost all of its strength. Thus, the Portuguese media specified that the offensive Maxi Araujo would be operational after blowing this weekend during the Portuguese Cup match won in overtime against Paços Ferreira (2-3, ap). Same observation for Gonçalo Inacio and Ousmane Diomandé.

On the other hand, still no Daniel Bragança and Nuno Santos, long injured. The second named, absent for a year after a serious knee injury, still seems on the verge of returning to training. It could be this week, or even the next.

OM can believe it against Sporting

As for OM, the objective is clear for this Wednesday: try to bring back at least one point from Lisbon. The Phocaeans and Sporting have so far experienced the same course in the Champions League, with one victory and one defeat. After a home success against Kairat Almaty (4-1), the Portuguese club lost in Naples (2-1).

The history between Marseille and Lisbon is largely in favor of the former. The last two clashes date back to 2022, during the group stage of C1, old version. Marseille had certainly finished last in Group D, but had won their two matches against Sporting.
