For the second consecutive time in Ligue 1, Paris Saint-Germain failed to win. In his last four outings in the league, the reigning champion has only been successful once. Friday evening after the draw conceded at the Parc des Princes against Strasbourg (3-3), Luis Enrique explained this by the management of his squad. Comments validated by Bixente Lizarazu.

The consultant said it this Sunday on the Téléfoot set. For him, the various injured executives and this famous workforce management are credible explanations. “Yes, I think it’s smart on the part of Luis Enrique and the staff. I think they analyzed last season, this start to the season with a lot of injuries, and that they are a bit like the Tour de France. »

And the 1998 world champion developed this parallel.
“They start slowly, they can manage the effort, and when there are mountains, they will have to accelerate. For the moment, they must lose points but these are points which are assumed. » For the consultant, Luis Enrique therefore knows perfectly what he is doing and works with a long-term vision for the rest of the season.

PSG follows its season plan

“When we see the composition of the team, there are only three usual starters we will say, otherwise they are more replacements. So I totally understand it. But that means losing points at times and not being as competitive as usual. » As the eighth day of the League ends this Sunday evening, PSG is assured of remaining second, one point behind OM who overtook them thanks to their card on Saturday against Le Havre (6-2).

The season is therefore still very long for Paris Saint-Germain who are taking their time and managing their forces for the battles to come. As always, it is around February-March that the Parisian club should start its rise. That's at least what it will take to try to retain their titles in Ligue 1 and the Champions League in particular.
