Now a player with the Saudi squad of Al-Ittihad, Danilo Pereira has given new impetus to his career following his departure from Paris Saint-Germain in the summer of 2024.

The Portuguese rock wore the colors of the capital club for 4 seasons, leaving the memory of an impeccable player always ready to fight for his squad. In an interview with Onze Mondial, the former FC Porto player looked back on his Parisian years.

The 34-year-old defender revealed the names of the players who impressed him the most during his adventure in the French capital. If he has rubbed shoulders with players like Lionel Messi, Neymar or Kylian Mbappé, these 3 players are not part of his top 2.

In first, I say it every day: it’s Marco Verratti. With the ball, without the ball… it was incredible! The way he also talks with people… He’s a midfielder I’ve never seen before, a complete player,” he said at first.

Before continuing: “ENext, I would say Warren (Zaire-Emery). At 16 or 17, he was doing incredible things. He's been playing less for a while, but I think he still has room for improvement and can go far. He's a very nice young man who I like. »

“Happy for PSG”

Semi-finalist of the Champions League twice with PSG (2021 and 2024), Danilo Pereira did not have the chance to win the trophy with the Parisian club. However, the Portuguese international did not hide his satisfaction at having seen the Rouge et Bleu lift the trophy on May 31 in Munich.

Any regrets? No, never. I'm happy to have seen PSG win the first Ligue of Champions in its history. I'm also happy to have seen former teammates happy. In particular the Portuguese Vitinha, Nuno Mendes, Gonçalo Ramos and João Neves, because I know how complicated it is to arrive at a big club like Paris Saint-Germain from Portugal and do the job as they were able to do. It was with great pride that I witnessed this (smile). »
