Time for the English Derby. If Manchester United has lost its luster in recent years, the rivalry between the historic club and Liverpool remains strong and the poster remains one of the biggest matches across the Channel, but also in Europe. The Reds, fourth in the Premier League and four points behind leader Arsenal with a game in hand, are in deep doubt since they have just suffered three defeats, two in the league against Crystal Palace (2-1) and Chelsea (2-1) and one in the Champions League against Galatasaray (1-0). Opposite, the Red Devils are still in the soft English underbelly since they occupy twelfth place with only three successes after seven days. Who will come back and win this hot derby counting for the 8th day of the Premier League? The meeting can be followed live with commentary from 5:30 p.m. on French Football Weekly.

For this match, Arne Slot, deprived of Alisson, Endo and Leoni, aligned a 4-2-3-1 with Mamardashvili in goal, Bradley, Konaté, Van Dijk and Kerkez in defense as well as Mac Allister and Gravenberch in the middle. Salah, Szoboszlai and Gakpo form the support line behind Isak, alone at the forefront. Frimpong, Wirtz and Ekitiké therefore start on the bench. Opposite, Ruben Amorim only has Lisandro Martinez absent and aligns a 3-4-3 with Lammens in goal and a three-way De Ligt-Maguire-Shaw defense. Amad Diallo and Dalot occupy the lanes while Casemiro and Bruno Fernandes form the double pivot. Finally, Mount and Mbeumo will try to serve Cunha, alone at the forefront. Yoro and Sesko are therefore substitutes at kick-off.

Team compositions:

Liverpool: Mamardashvili – Bradley, Konaté, Van Dijk, Kerkez – Mac Allister, Gravenberch – Salah, Szoboszlai, Gakpo – Isak

Manchester United: Lammens – De Ligt, Maguire, Shaw – Amad Diallo, Casemiro, Bruno Fernandes, Dalot – Mount, Cunha, Mbeumo
