Nothing is going well for Stade Rennais. The Bretons once again disappointed this Sunday at Roazhon Park by conceding a draw against AJ Auxerre (2-2), on the occasion of the 8th day of Ligue 1. Habib Beye's men have not tasted victory since September 14 and their success against Lyon. It was then only their second victory of the season, after the inaugural victory against Marseille. Since then, Rennes has multiplied poor performances and is struggling to win three points.

This bad series is starting to weigh heavily in the locker room. According to Daniel Riolo, certain internal tensions appeared, with players questioning the choices of the Senegalese technician. If the sports director recently denied any imminent departure of Habib Beye, the climate remains tense internally. The coach prefers to keep his cool and concentrate on the field.

Questioned after the meeting, Beye recognized his team's shortcomings. “We made too many mistakes to hope to take three points. It's starting to do a lot. We are a great team, but in these zones of truth, we have to be tougher. I find this recurring, I am disappointed and frustrated for the players”he confided at a press conference.

“It’s too much…”

However, the Rennes coach did not want to point the finger at his men. “I have nothing to reproach the players in their state of mind, in their energy. We must continue to promote what we do well. We are too smooth in the zones of truth”he added, lucid but measured.

With only one defeat since the start of the season but already five draws, Rennes is dangerously stagnating in the standings, with 9th place. “We still only have one defeat, but draws don’t help us move forward… It’s too much to hope for a win”admitted Beye. Stade Rennais will have to react quickly if it wants to prevent the crisis of results from becoming a crisis of confidence.
