This is the image of the weekend in Spain, for the moment at least. While Ronald Araujo gave FC Barcelona victory against Girona (2-1) in the very last moments of the match, Hansi Flick celebrated by making several arms of honor. Who were they intended for? The German spoke after the match. “It was my way of celebrating the victory, it was not directed towards anyone”indicated the coach at a press conference.

Knowing that on top of that, he had already been sent off by the referee of the match Jesus Gil Manzano, having received two yellow cards before this goal from the Uruguayan defender. Obviously, a question arises: what does the German coach really risk following his crude gesture, to say the least? The first elements of the response are rather reassuring for him and FC Barcelona.

The Federation can take action

Indeed, the referee did not mention the gesture of the German coach in his report of the match. Officially, it's more or less as if it didn't happen. The former Bayern and German team player thus escapes a possible sanction which could amount to 5 matches or more. A priori he will only receive one match, which is not linked to his arm of honor but to his red card. He will therefore still miss the Clasico, but will be back for the rest of La Liga.

Still, the Competition Committee of the Spanish Federation could decide to intervene exceptionally, even if the referee of the match did not mention Flick's gesture in his report. This is what indicates Marcaeven if this is not the most likely hypothesis at the moment. Everything indicates that Hansi Flick should come out of this without too much trouble…
