Manchester City hosted Everton at the Etihad Stadium for the remainder of this 8th day of the Premier League. A meeting which marked the returns from injury of Rayan Cherki, Omar Marmoush and Mateo Kovacic in Pep Guardiola's group. Facing David Moyes' team, which was deprived of Jack Grealish, the Cityzens did the job and won (2-0), thanks to Erling Haaland's 10th and 11th goal in the league this season. A 5th success in the 8th day which allows the Skyblues to take the lead in the Premier League standings, while waiting for Fulham-Arsenal (6:30 p.m.).

In the other matches, Bournemouth was held in check by Crystal Palace (3-3), in a spectacular meeting at Selhurst Park. However, Andoni Iraola's team led 0-2 at half-time thanks to a double from ex-Lorient player Eli Junior Kroupi. But Jean-Philippe Mateta, on cloud nine after his first goal with the French team, scored two goals in five minutes to allow Palace to get back on track. At the end of the match, Ryan Christie thought he would give the Cherries victory. But Mateta, again, scored a hat-trick in the 97th minute, from the penalty spot, to give the locals a draw. At the same time, Brighton beat Newcastle (2-1), while Burnley – led by their French Lesley Ugochukwu and Loum Tchaouna – achieved a second success in the PL by winning against Leeds (2-0). Finally, Régis Le Bris' Sunderland dominated Wolverhampton, good last with no victory (2-0).
