According to The AthleticNottingham Forest have made contact with Roberto Mancini as a potential replacement for the manager's job following the dismissal of Ange Postecoglou on Saturday. The 60-year-old Italian coach, formerly of Manchester City, was approached as Forest are looking for a new coach after a series of poor results, including a defeat (3-0) at home against Chelsea, which precipitated the departure of Postecoglou this Saturday The Australian did not win a single match in his first eight games at the helm of the club, sparking chants of “sacked in the morning” from the supporters. After the resignation of Nuno Espirito Santo in September, Forest are currently looking for their third coach of the season.

Meanwhile, former Everton and Burnley manager Sean Dyche is also a candidate for the role. Mancini, who won a Premier League title with Manchester City in 2012 and the Euro with Italy in 2020, has a wealth of club and national experience, notably with Galatasaray, Inter Milan, and more recently with Saudi Arabia. His last experience at the helm of the Nazionale ended in failure, with Italy failing to qualify for the 2022 World Cup. Nottingham Forest, currently 18th in the Premier League with just one win in eight matches, will be hoping to find a new manager capable of turning things around before facing Porto in the Europa League this Thursday.
