Last August,
Kevin Trapp signed a three-year contract with Paris FC. The former Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper arrived from Eintracht Frankfurt.
Despite his status as a German international (nine caps), the 35-year-old goalkeeper finds himself replacing in his new club. Coach Stéphane Gili prefers the young Obed Nkambadio. However, the native of Merzig seems not to regret his choice.
“I wanted to leave Frankfurt at the right time. This year, we qualified for the Champions League, we won the Europa League (2022). The goal was – it was even a bit of a dream – to be able to leave, while the club was at the highest possible level. And then, of course, the project here in Paris,” he confided during an interview given to The Team.
Trapp came “home”
And the Germanic doorman continued: “It’s a very ambitious project, exciting even with the shareholders, with their vision. And being part of this club, of this team from the start of this project, was important for me. Knowing that I can also bring my experience, my quality to the team, to the club. I really liked all of this. In fact, coming back to Paris is a bit like coming back home, the adaptation was quite quick.”
Kevin Trapp played for PSG between 2015 and 2017. He started in goal for the Rouge et Bleu during the famous “remontada” of March 8, 2017, at the Camp Nou in Barcelona.
