What is really going on at Stade Rennais? While the club is going through a delicate period, with a series of disappointing results in Ligue 1, internal tensions have also emerged in the locker room. The future of Habib Beye seemed particularly uncertain. Daniel Riolo recently claimed that two club executives wanted “have your skin”.

“Habib Beye is in difficulty in Rennes”first launched the editorialist on RMC. “Seko Fofana and especially Brice Samba decided that Beye was dead, that he was not a good coach, that they did not want to work with him and that it was not going well… Beye tried to have meetings with certain players, like Fofana, but it was refused. Samba and Fofana decided to have a little skin on him”he detailed.

“There is no debate”

But today, management put an end to the rumors. Loïc Désiré, sporting director of the club, was clear in his remarks to
West France : “There is no debate about that. On the other hand, we must react, improve”affirming that Beye remains fully supported and that the disagreements between the two players and the coach are “a positive signal of awareness and responsibility”.

The sporting director also wanted to dispel accusations of lack of investment within the club, currently 10th in Ligue 1: “There have been incidents of matches, cards, injuries, little continuity in the eleven… but the players are very involved, there are no cheaters, there are no senators! » For Désiré, the current difficulties are more a matter of psychological relaxation than a structural problem with the coach.
