On September 21, at the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris, Ousmane Dembélé was crowned France Football 2025 Ballon d'Or. A title that he obtained without surprise ahead of Lamine Yamal and Vitinha.

A ranking dominated and invaded by several Parisians with 5 Parisian players in the top 10 including Portuguese full-back Nuno Mendes who brings up the rear. The 23-year-old is shining at the start of the season and has established himself for several months as the best player in his position.

After the draw against Hungary (2-2), where he once again proved decisive by delivering an assist to Cristiano Ronaldo, the Parisian was questioned about his current performances and his 10th place in the Ballon d'Or.

“The player who won deserved it. Ousmane Dembélé had a very good season with us. A season that brought us a lot. I don't focus too much on that. For now, I'm focusing on my development and improving my game, both defensively and offensively. That's what matters most to me right now.”he declared on the microphone of the Portuguese television channel RTP.

“But who is he? »

Nuno Mendes continues to impress the football world and various observers. When he arrived in the French capital in the summer of 2021, the Portuguese shocked his partners with his level of play. Interviewed by France Blue Paristhe former red and blue goalkeeper Alexandre Letellier remembered the defender's first steps on the lawn of Club Bruges in the Champions League.

“I remember, Nuno Mendes's first match was against Bruges in the Champions League. He comes in and at his first acceleration, on the bench, we all looked at each other and said: “but who is him? He had put I don't know how many meters on his defender. It was mind-blowing,” blurted the young retiree.
