Winner of the Premier League last season, Liverpool had a crazy transfer window with several hundred million euros spent. The Reds were notably able to count on revenues linked to ticketing, merchandising and even sponsorship, notably that of the first team jersey. Since 2010, the international bank Standard Chartered has been displayed on the front of the LFC tunic. It pays a little more than €57 million per year to residents of Anfield, with whom it has signed a partnership until 2027.
But this Wednesday, The Sun explains that Liverpool are on the verge of signing a record new contract with Standard Chartered. In fact, the English club will receive €80 million per year from the bank. This would make the Reds shirt the most expensive in the Premier League. Until now, Manchester United (Snapdragon) and Manchester City (Etihad Airways) had the most expensive contracts, since they receive around €69 million per year for their jersey sponsor. Liverpool therefore intends to line their pockets.
