This season again, Mason Greenwood weighs heavily in OM's performances. Less in the statistics than in the impact and influence on the Marseille game. Credited with 21 goals (and six goals) for his first year in Ligue 1 – as many as the top scorer Ousmane Dembélé – the person concerned for two months has still accumulated three goals and four assists in nine outings in the sky and white jersey.

Obviously, while the 24-year-old Englishman is now playing in the Champions League, the spotlight is once again on his talent and this has not escaped a top club like Atlético de Madrid. A few weeks ago, the Spanish press reported interest from Matelassiers in the former Red Devil. Interest confirmed today.

The Colchoneros would be convinced to the point of wanting to take action this winter, reports Fichajes.net in particular. This while the offensive sector currently available to Diego Simeone appears largely capable of improvement at half-time of the first part of the season.

A deal not necessarily interesting for OM

Already in the summer of 2024, the Madrid club had hesitated to position itself on the banned Mancunian, then successfully passed through the Liga box in the ranks of Getafe. With 10 goals and six assists to his credit in 36 championship and Copa del Rey matches combined. The scent of scandal which then surrounded the player who had become persona non grata in England for his domestic violence had finally slowed down Atlético in its ardor.

To date, OM is not officially a seller, but after a certain price, it will inevitably be difficult for the Olympians to repel possible winter advances. The price of 75 million euros is mentioned, but with such an envelope, President Longoria will only have 45 million euros to pay into the coffers of his club – Manchester United keeping 40% of the rights on the resale of the boy.
