Christopher Nkunku put the Blues back in the match on the hour mark. Served deep, the French striker accelerated, moved towards the surface and eliminated Palsson with a silky hook before placing a curling shot into the opposite net. A gesture full of composure which left the Icelandic goalkeeper without reaction.
Thanks to this achievement, France finally equalized in Reykjavik and completely restarted the match. This goal rewards the rise in power of Deschamps' men, until then frustrated by the Icelandic solidity and the lack of offensive success.
