The next transfer window could have represented a new opportunity for Olympique de Marseille to make some adjustments to its squad. After a summer marked by ambitious recruitment, this winter seemed more destined for downsizing.

The rule on non-community players also plays a role, limiting the number of players concerned within Ligue 1 teams to four. According to information from The Teamthe Marseille management had considered a departure in order to free up one of these places.

Thus, the vice-champion of France had considered the possibility of separating Luis Henrique or Amir Murillo during the next transfer window. Finally, the Brazilian right winger joined Inter Milan last June, while the Panamanian side remained behind. To this day, Murillo still occupies one of the available extra-community spots. And this, just like Facundo Medina and Igor Paixao.

Mason Greenwood's case is also evolving. The England striker recently became a naturalized Jamaican. It should thus benefit from the agreement with the ACP countries, which will allow it to no longer be subject to the quota regime, unlike the British since their exit from the European Union.
