Adrien Rabiot has not yet fully digested his departure from Olympique de Marseille. Initially sidelined after a violent altercation with Jonathan Rowe in August, the French midfielder was finally transferred to AC Milan before the end of the summer transfer window.

Asked about this on the antenna of Téléfoot this Sunday, the Blues executive expressed his perplexity at the conclusion of his Marseille adventure. A chapter that he seems to be closing, but not without regrets.

“I have never been a violent person”

“I'm sad, it shouldn't have ended like this. The decision is incomprehensible to everyone. Nobody understood. It's something sad, frustrating. What bothered me was that people weren't telling the truth about me. I have never been a violent person, people know me, everyone can testify. I don't want to be given a bad image of myself, a false image. It’s the life of football, life in general, we don’t always control everything”Rabiot said.

“I have always been at peace, I do things with conviction. I think I have always been straight, I have always done things 100%, I have never cheated”concluded the 2025 French vice-champion.

For his part, Marseille coach Roberto De Zerbi seemed rather satisfied with the conclusion of this story.
“But it did us good, because the club chose to do without Rabiot, who did not want to take a step back,” he declared in the columns of Corriere della Sera.
