It's not just Paris Saint-Germain that we're suffering from injuries at the start of the season. FC Barcelona did not play in the Club World Cup last summer, but its infirmary is full, and Lamine Yamal would like to get out.
Hindered by a groin injury for several weeks, the Catalan prodigy managed to return in time for the clash against PSG… after which he relapsed. It was without him that the Blaugrana lost in Seville (4-1) last weekend.
Packaged with Spain for the international window, Lamine Yamal is taking the time to heal, particularly with a view to the famous Clasico on the Real Madrid pitch on October 26.
Lamine Yamal on the return
According to AS, the trend is rather good. Ousmane Dembélé's runner-up to the Ballon d'Or should be able to be in the squad next weekend against Girona, and play a few minutes. He could then start during the week in the Champions League, against Olympiakos, in order to get back into rhythm before the duel at the top against Real.
More good news for Barça, Fermín López and Raphinha are also on their way back, and should be in the squad for Girona. Only goalkeeper Joan Garcia still seems far from the mark, and is not expected to play again before November.
