One month, one controversy. After that of September when PSG blamed him for the injuries of Désiré Doué and Ousmane Dembélé, Didier Deschamps is now facing the Madrid rumble. Hit in the ankle last week against Villarreal, Kylian Mbappé finally insisted on being part of the Blues' list for the World Cup.

At a press conference, he even indicated this week his desire to play the match against Azerbaijan, ensuring that he was getting better. “I want to play, and the coach wants me to play. I feel good. I have no particular concerns”he declared. So he played, he even scored, but he also re-injured the same ankle after a shock which forced him to give up his place to Florian Thauvin in the 83rd minute.

It's the fault of bad luck for Deschamps

In Spain and at Real Madrid, it is difficult to understand why Deschamps left his player on the pitch for so long, especially in such a controlled match (3-0). At the final whistle, the Blues coach was content to give brief news about Mbappé. On Téléfoot this Sunday, he was more talkative about his choice: “if we had to play him so much? We can always ask ourselves the question”said DD.

“But I have a lot of discussions with Kylian: before the week, during the week, particularly about his feelings, at half-time too, and even in the second half. We're not safe, it hasn't gotten worse, he hasn't had any more pain but there are shocks… Before I take him out, he takes a blow exactly where he was hurting. But without this shock, given the form he is in, there were no particular concerns. Football, there is contact and unfortunately, you can get injuries. » Not sure that these words are likely to convince Real Madrid.
