Opponent of OM in the Champions League, Union Saint-Gilloise could be weakened when it comes to meeting the Marseillais.

Will the misfortunes of AS Monaco bring happiness to OM? The hypothesis should not be excluded. After firing Adi HĂĽtter, the leaders of Le Rocher have found a successor to the Austrian coach.

According to the good news, the Belgian Sébastien Pocognoli will arrive this weekend in the Principality. The 38-year-old technician would then leave the Union Saint-Gilloise club, Belgian champion and current leader of the Jupiler Pro League.

Why would the leaders of the Brussels club part ways with a coach who has proven himself, with results to back it up? For the money? The Union should recover one million euros, the amount of the former left-back's severance pay, writes Het Nieuwsblad.

A departure like a betrayal?

Whatever the reasons, they could benefit OM. Roberto De Zerbi's players will face their counterparts from Saint-Gilles on December 9 during the 6th day of the Champions League.

The meeting will take place on the pitch of this club in the municipality of Brussels-Capital (Brussels Midi Station district), perhaps against a team which will have had difficulty digesting the departure of Sébastien Pocognoli at the heart of the season.
