The news is definitely not good for Paul Pogba. While the midfielder hoped to return to the pitch after the international break, his return was once again postponed. Recruited this summer by AS Monaco to relaunch his career after two years of suspension, the 2018 world champion suffers from muscular discomfort in his right thigh, further delaying his recovery.

But a new extra-sporting episode darkens its news a little further. According to The TeamBoubacar Camara, his childhood friend involved in the extortion attempt and the kidnapping of Pogba in 2022, will soon be released. His lawyer obtained a reduced sentence this Friday morning.

Sentenced to four years in prison, two of which were suspended, Camara, detained since last March, will be able to leave prison on October 21. He will benefit from daily release times from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., but he will be strictly prohibited from coming into contact with Paul Pogba or the others convicted in this case.

100,000 euros stolen

Pogba notably accused his former friend of stealing 100,000 euros in cash from him, while other individuals tried to extract 13 million euros from him. The latter received sentences of up to eight years in prison.

For his part, Mathias Pogba, the Monegasque's older brother, was sentenced to three years in prison, including one year, placed under an electronic bracelet. Relations between the two brothers nevertheless seem to be calming down. Last August, “la Pioche” published a photo on Instagram alongside Mathias and Florentin, wishing them a happy birthday. A sign of reconciliation after months of tensions.
