First in the Group D standings with three points ahead of Iceland, the French team can continue its march forward against Azerbaijan this evening at the Parc des Princes (8:45 p.m.). A meeting for which Didier Deschamps should make some changes compared to the last gathering. In all likelihood, the coach would start with a team structured in 4-2-3-1.

In the cages, no surprise, Mike Maignan will logically be present. In front of him, a rather classic four-man defense. The left flank will be occupied by Theo Hernandez. In the middle, the William Saliba-Dayot Upamecano pair will be responsible for protecting the French goal. Finally, Malo Gusto should be lined up at right back. In the middle, Aurélien Tchouameni will be replaced.

Coman and Ekitike holders?

In recovery, it is a 100% Serie A duo which should be chosen with the Rossonero Adrien Rabiot and the Bianconero Khéphren Thuram. In front of them, DD should reserve a sexy offensive sector for us with two surprises. Recalled to the selection, Kingsley Coman could start as a starter, benefiting from the numerous absences in the offensive sector.

Michael Olise is expected in the position that he brings up to date in the French team, in number 10, under Kylian Mbappé, who should indeed be the starter, to the great displeasure of Real Madrid. The second surprise could concern Hugo Ekitike. The Liverpool striker, author of a good start to the season, could be aligned, in principle on the left side, but with an ability to swap with Mbappé in the axis.

The probable composition of France: Maignan – Gusto, Saliba, Upamecano, T. Hernandez – K. Thuram, Rabiot – Coman, Olise, Ekitike – Mbappé (cap)

The probable composition of Azerbaijan: Magomedaliyev – Badalov, Mustafazade, Krivotsyuk – Aliyev, Makhmudov (cap), Emreli, Bayaramov, Jafarguliyev – Dadasov, Akhmedzade
