It had been anticipated for a few days, it is now confirmed: Adi Hütter is no longer the coach of AS Monaco.
According to information from AFP, the Austrian technician learned of his dismissal this Thursday. Conqueror of Ligue 1, the Principality club went through a very delicate start to autumn, with major poor performances against Bruges in the Champions League (1-4 defeat) and Lorient in Ligue 1 (1-3).
Adi Hutter and Monaco, it's the end.
Arriving a little over two years ago, Adi Hütter managed to qualify ASM for the prestigious Champions League twice. Last year, the club finished in third place in Ligue 1 behind Paris Saint-Germain and Olympique Marseille, while finishing in the top 24 in the League stage.
Monaco already has its replacement
To take over from Adi Hütter, AS Monaco made a strong choice by banking on Sébastien Pocognoli. A young 38-year-old Belgian coach, the latter cut his teeth with the Union Saint-Gilloise club, which he made shine on the European scene.
If nothing has yet been made official, AS Monaco should confirm the arrival of its new coach in the coming hours. Long favorite to take the job, Edin Terzic, the former coach of Borussia Dortmund, was not chosen.
