In Munich, we don't like to be taken by surprise. Even if Harry Kane is fully blossoming in the Bavarian jersey and has brushed aside rumors of an imminent departure, Bayern leaders are already preparing for the future. Aware that the balance of a very high-level workforce also relies on anticipation, they have relaunched a file that has been on hold for several months. A file which concerns a European center forward with a profile cut to succeed – or support – the English international in the years to come.

Dusan Vlahovic targeted by Bayern Munich

According to Bild, Bayern recently made contact with the entourage of Dusan Vlahovic, the Serbian striker of Juventus. Aged 25, the former Fiorentina player has long been on the German champions' shelves, and interest has reignited in recent weeks. The Bavarian management, embodied by Max Eberl and Christoph Freund, sees in him a natural successor to Kane if the future were to be written without him, or an ideal complement to strengthen the attack. Vlahovic, under contract until 2026, would be “very interested” in a departure for the Allianz Arena, possibly as early as next summer as part of a free transfer if the contractual situation evolves.

Bayern's initiative reflects a clear strategy: never wait until your back is against the wall to act. Even though Kane repeats that he is
“totally focused on Bayern”, he has not closed the door to a long-term return to England. In this context, securing a credible alternative becomes imperative. Vlahovic ticks all the boxes: power, clinical finishing, playing with his back to goal and the ability to press high. As a bonus, his room for improvement remains significant, and his profile fits perfectly into Vincent Kompany's offensive system.

Fierce competition for the Serbian striker

Bayern, however, is not alone on the matter. Manchester United and Chelsea are also monitoring the situation, while Juventus does not rule out opening the door to a sale from the winter transfer window. Author of four goals and an assist in eight games this season, Vlahovic has regained his effectiveness, enough to increase his rating on the market. On the Turin side, we are already preparing for all eventualities, including that of a major offer from Bavaria.

It remains to be seen whether the arrival of the Serb would be part of a logic of succession or complementarity. Pairing two attackers of this caliber would involve a major tactical overhaul for Kompany, but would provide Bayern with formidable attacking depth. One thing is certain: the Bavarians' interest in Vlahovic confirms their ambition to remain at the top of Europe. Even with an imperial Harry Kane, Munich is already preparing for the future.
