The 29-year-old winger had returned after the time of play against Iceland (2-1), during the last international truce, on September 9. He thus honored his 59th selection, his previous one dating back to November 14, 2024, while he was still playing in Bayern Munich. Recurring injuries then kept him away from the Blues for almost a year.
This summer, Coman chose to relaunch himself in Saudi Arabia, on the side of Al-Nassr, Cristiano Ronaldo club. He played nine games in all competitions at the start of the season and chained the good performances, which convinced Didier Deschamps to summon him directly for the October break.
“You have to go play in Baghdad”

The player referred to a trip of his new club in the Champions 2 League of the AFC. On October 1, Al-Nassr won 2-0 on the lawn of Al-Zawra'A Sports Club, based in Baghdad, marking his first successful steps in Asian competition.
