The Spanish midfielder Rodri was again forced to leave his teammates on injury during the Premier League match against Brentford. Released after only twenty minutes of play, the 29 -year -old left the lawn by box, visibly affected, before reaching the locker room directly. This new incident relaunches concerns around his right knee, already affected by a rupture of the previous cross ligament in September 2024, an injury which had kept him away from the fields for almost eight months.

This setback is a hard blow for Pep Guardiola, who hoped to be able to finally count on a Rodri fully restored after a gradual return in May 2025 and a solid participation in the World Cup. The doctors of the club will now assess the severity of this relapse, while the international break could offer it a welcome respite. The City's medical staff will have to manage with caution the recovery time of the Spanish environment, essential in the balance of the team, in order to prevent this persistent fragility from compromising the rest of its season.
