Launched very early in the big bath at just 16 years old, Warren Zaïre-Emery was considered a huge hope of the Parisian training center. His first seasons as a PSG holder enabled him to join the French A team and shine on the national scene. But since his injury at the end of 2023, the midfielder has struggled to regain his level and now only serves as a replacement in a workforce that runs perfectly without him.

Faced with this situation, Jérôme Rothen did not chew his words and advises him to leave the capital. “The observation is terrible for Warren Zaïre-Emery. Since the arrival of Luis Enrique, he has regressed. Whenever he plays, he makes average matches. It may not be compatible with Luis Enrique's game »he said.

Rothen detailed the shortcomings observed in the young player:
“On matches as against OM, where the workforce needs a solid Zaire-Emery, from the international level, you expect it to leave when the average level drops. You have to take the ball, ask for it, protect it … it is not able to do it. Even there, he can't do it anymore. »»

“Go see elsewhere”

The former Parisian even mentioned a possible departure of “Wze” to relaunch his career: “The best for him, it would be to go see elsewhere and to discover a new experience with another coach. »» An outing that highlights the dilemma that PSG and the player have to face.

This situation is all the more complex since Zaïre-Emery extended his contract last year until 29, with a salary estimated at more than 8 million euros gross per year. High emoluments that complicate any possibility of transfer, especially in view of its recent performance.
